I do not experience the noise if I connect headphones to either line-out, regardless of whether or not the amp is plugged in. If I disconnect the amp from my PC's audio line-out, the noise is eliminated.

The noise occurs on both the motherboard's line-out and my PC chassis's front line-out. When I turn on my amp, I hear a medium-to-high frequency buzz and hum which increases as I turn the volume on my amp higher. I also have an ASUS Sabertooth Z77 motherboard which uses the Realtek ALC892 codec (I guess this is an older one). Following some recommendations I found here, I purchased one pair of Dayton Audio B652 bookshelf speakers and a DTA-100a Class-T 50 WPC amp. I'm experiencing what I think might be a ground loop issue with my PC and speakers connected to a single outlet. I'm more-or-less a newbie most of the content here, but am learning frequently.
